Future Boomers Development Program
FUTURE BOOMERS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, 2025
TARGET: The Future Boomers Development Program is led by our Junior Domestic Development Officer, Kelvin Bowers with support coaches, aimed at boys and girls born in 2016/2017 (U10) or 2014/2015 (U12) who currently play Junior Domestic or Junior Community League basketball at Bulleen Boomers. KB and our Junior Rep coaches are always on the lookout for future Boomers representative players and watch games during the week and on Saturday. Players will be sent personal invitations to join the program.
Players who have attended Junior Championship tryouts and missed a place in a team are also welcome to join the program, having shown they have an interest in playing rep basketball. Becoming a Future Boomer significantly increases the chances of making a rep team at the 2026 try outs.
PURPOSE: Attract and select teams of boys and girls whom we can develop and open the pathway as prime candidates for selection for the 2026 VJBL season.
PROGRAM DESIGN: The program involves players attending training sessions throughout the term, leading into tournament participation each term. Both the trainings and tournaments are equally valuable, and players should attend all aspects to maximise the benefits of the program.
The club is investing in the future of our pathway to help players improve and aspire to be Boomer Junior Representative players next season and beyond. We will provide an inclusive and advanced coaching tuition across the program and tournaments.
